Hello,
I have installed UCCX 10.5 using ova file with 400 Agents (400 Agents take 4CPU and 16 GB RAM). Installation went successful and the UCCX is in production now.
Currently we have around 80 Agents active. To save hardware resources can i reduce the 4CPU to 2CPU and 16GB to 8GB RAM ? I will do this during maintenance window.
Is it going to impact the performance of our operation ?

It is not supported to either increase or decrease the VM specs other than what you get default by the result of deploying an OVA template for any UC application. Check Best Practices section of below document for more information on this:
http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Unified_Communications_VMware_Requirements#Best_Practices
Resize Virtual Machine section that talks about adding or removing resources is only from the perspective when a VM is running on less or more resources than what a particular OVA gives. For example, if you have a machine that was built with 20 GB for 400 agents, then you can reduce the RAM to 16 GB so that it matches what 400 agent OVA gives. Similarly, if a VM was deployed with 8GB for 400 agents than you can increase it to 16 GB to match a 400 agent OVA template.
In nutshell, anything in terms of increasing or decreasing the resources for a VM apart from what you get by deploying an OVA template is not supported and should not be done at any cost.

Deepak

Hi,
You can follow the procedure mentioned in this guide:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_10_5/maintain_and_operate/guide/UCCX_BK_CEE84C5F_00_cisco-unified-contact-center-express-operations-guide-10-5/UCCX_BK_CEE84C5F_00_cisco-unified-contact-center-express-operations-guide-10-5_chapter_011.html#UCCX_TK_R53D190E_00
As stated in the docwiki link provided by Deepak, RAM and CPU can be changed, its only when you need to change the HDD you need to rebuild and retore backup.

You will need to start with publisher but I still cannot understand why you want to do that. As I stated earlier as well, you cannot change the specs other than what you get as a result of deploying an OVA template, it is Not Supported.
If you have a requirment to change HDD in order to match that of an OVA, then start with Publisher followed by subscriber and perform Add to Cluster operation.

Hi Deepak,
We want to change this to save hardware resources on UCS server. We have UCS BE6K M2 server which has 8 CPU.
Currently we have CCM (2xvCPU) Unity Connection (2xvCPU) and one UCCX (4*CPU).
We want to change CPU and RAM to install one more app into ucs.

Hmm, if that is the case then take the backup of your existing UCCX system through DRS, create a new VM by deploying either a 100 agent OVA or 300 that will use 2vCPU and 8GB RAM and then perform the DRS restore.
Please note deploying UCCX with 100 or 300 agents OVA template will also affect the number of CTI ports in case you are using Enhanced or Standard license. If you deploy 100 agents OVA template and you have Enhanced or Standard license there then the number of CTI ports will also be limited to 100 ports. Si it will be worth toi check your current number of ports by going to CCX ADministration >> System >> License Information >> Display Licneses
Though, you can change the vCPU and vRAM wiuthout the need of rebuild but that will cause the OVA that you have currently deployed for 400 agents to go invalid and will display an error message on the CCX Aministration page hence you will need to deploy a new VM
Error: VM configuration does not match the OVA profile. Please refer to the Unified CCX Virtualization DocWiki for the supported configurations.

Thanks for information Deepak will verify CTI ports before rebuild.

If you want to change HDD as well.
Take a DRF backup of CCX server.
Build another server, with which ever OVA you want with exact same IP, hostname ETC.
Restore it on the new server, verify if everything is working fine, make sure only one server is turned on at a given point of time.
