Upgrade UCCX 8.5 to 10.5

Hi all,

I should upgrade the UCCX 8.5 to 10.5.

Can you tell if I can upgrade directly the UCCX 8.5 to 10.5 or should I upgrade the UCCX 8.5 to 10.0 and after 10.0 to 10.5?

Hi there.

You need to upgrade first to 8.5.1SU4. Then you will be able to direct upgrade to 10.5 version.

here is my UCCX version (8.5.1.11002-22).

Should I upgrade also to 8.5.1SU4?

Please refer to UCCX 10.5 compatibility guide http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Unified_CCX_Software_Compatibility_Matrix_for_10.5(1)_SU1

You can upgrade to 10.5 only from next versions:

8.5(1)SU4
9.0(2)SU3
10.0(1)SU1 
10.5(1)

So first you need to upgrade to 8.5.1SU4 (8.5.1.11004-25). Next step will be 10.5.

If you are staying in 8.5 train you don't need new license.

New license is needed when you upgrade to new major version like 10.5. Either you make changes in system like changing ip address, dns, ntp etc. This will cause to license mac change.

Hi Valery,

My colleague has a CUCM problem with partition on ESXI and I would like if I can upgrade UCCX 8.5 to 8.5(1)SU4 then 10.5(1)SU4 without to use the CUCM.

To upgrade the UCCX it need to connect to CUCM or not, thanks a lot for your reply.
