From SNTC (CSPC) to CX Cloud - Questions

Hi there,

I’ve been reading the official documents about the transitioning from SNTC to CX Cloud and I think a few things need to be clarified. Can you help, please?

1 – Can customers who only have Smartnet/Solution Support contracts, without Success Track contracts, create a CX Cloud account and migrate even without a Success Track contract?

2 – Should customers eligible to migrate to CX Cloud use CSPC Collector only for the first upload of already collected inventory, or can they use CSPC along with CX Cloud all the time (making new discoveries, using automatic periodic collection for new uploads)?

3 – Using CSPC Collector all the time as a data source, will it be able to collect and to inventory all devices in customer’s network and will it be the only source enough? Will customers not need to use any other type of telemetry data flow (CX Agent, Intersight, Control Hub…)?

4 – Customers who have never used SNTC/CSPC before and are going to use CX Cloud for the first time, can they create a CSPC Collector VM and use it as a data source even without having a SNTC Portal previously?

5 – Will the CSPC Collector image continue to receive new versions, upgrades, bug fixes, etc?

1) A Success Track contract is no longer required to use CX Cloud.

2) Customers can continue to use the CSPC with the SNTC portal as well as with CX Cloud. The same collection data is shared with both end points/portals.

3) We encourage customers to install a CX Agent as an eventual replacement for the CSPC and use the other data sources (Intersight, Meraki, V-Manage) that are available to them in CX Cloud.

4) If a customer has never used the SNTC portal with the CSPC they will be unable to create a certificate for the CSPC and they should instead use the CX Agent as their default collector in CX Cloud.

5) The CSPC will continue to be patched to fix any outstanding security bugs until it is End of Software Maintenance.
