DCNM - Configurations, Quoting and Ordering

Hi,

  I am little confused on DCNM licensing. I need it for Nexus9300 switch. My question is do I need a license for each unit link for 10 switches we need 10 DCNM licenses or its only 1? CAn you please share me any link to study.

Hi Divya,

   I am not sure what you mean by a "unit link. In general you need one DCNM license per a switch to enable full functionality for that switch in DCNM.

Here is a link for 10.x

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/sw/10_1_x/licensing/cisco_dcnm_licensing_guide_10_x.html

11.x

There seem to be two LAN license options for a Nexus: LAN Enterprise and LAN Advanced

E.g. for a Nexus 9500:

L-DCNM-N95-K9= -> DCNM LAN Enterprise Lic for one Nexus 9500 Chassis eDelivery
exus

DCNM-LAN-N95-K9 -> DCNM for LAN Advanced Edt. for Nexus 9500 switches

What is the difference?

- I say what I mean and I do what I say -

@Martin2m2

The only difference between the L-DCNM-N95-K9= and DCNM-LAN-N95-K9 is the "L-" denotes eDelivery and the other is not eDelivery.

The wording 'Enterprise' and 'Advance' for DCNM licenses is used interchangeably.

They both have the same function in DCNM.
