Nexus 3172T Multichassis EtherChannel

Due to critical diagnostic outputs, I must upgrade a pair of Nexus 3172T in MCEC configuration with the Core. I'm looking for guidance on potential caveats related to both the Nexus upgrade itself and having to perform upgrade on a pair in the MCEC setup. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Hi @lcaruso ,

For the upgrade of Nexus switches, configured in vPC, the upgrade is one at a time, starting with the operational secondary.

I strongly recommend you before the upgrade to read the upgrade guide for the target NXOS train release (7.x, 9.2.x, 9.3.x)

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/switches/nexus-3000-series-switches/products-installation-guides-list.html

as well as the release notes (with focus on the open caveats section) for the target NXOS version:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/switches/nexus-3000-series-switches/products-release-notes-list.html

Hope it helps.

Stay safe,

Sergiu
