Hi there,

You'll need to configure the SVS connection on the VSM to connect to the VC.

You can provide the ip address of the VC server with the "remote ip address <ip>" command under the svs connection.

The config guide has further details:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus1000/sw/4_2_1_s_v_1_4/getting_started/configuration/guide/n1000v_gsg_4setup_cli.html#wp1054351

Hope this helps!

thank you for the reply. so just want to make sure.

with the new code there's no need to setup veth l3 control with l3 capability

but under the svs-domain the svs mode should be specified as L3

The SVS connection just establishes the VSM <--> VC connection.

The L3 mode under svs-domain and under a veth port-profile is for L3 connectivity between VSM <--> VEM

If you would like for VSM to VEM communication to be over L3, the svs mode (under svs domain) and the L3 capability (under the veth port profile) will have to configured.

Cheers,

Sachin
