SSH Access to DCNM server

I recently setup a DCNM server using the OVA file and Classic LAN mode. It seems to be working fine insofar as monitoring and collecting data.

I am trying to figure out how to ssh into the DCNM server, however, and cannot seem to figure out what account to use. I tried the admin account and that does not seem to work. I have RADIUS working for the WebGUI, but my account used for that does not seem to work either. There is a root account pre-made, but I'm hesitant to change the password on that without knowing if there is any potential impact from that.

I've searched a lot online and cannot find anything telling me what account I need to use. I know the server is listening on port 22, but I can't logon.

Thank you.

Hello,

By default, SSH access with root user is disabled.

You can enable it from the DCNM console using the following command :

appmgr root-access permit

Note that you can not apply any config changes from an SSH session !

If you try to do so, you will get this message :

[root@dcnm ~]# appmgr update network-properties session start
*****************************************************************
WARNING: this is an SSH session. To apply some changes you will
be required to use your DCNM Appliance console!
*****************************************************************

Perfect. Works like a charm.

Thanks
