Hi @jmpatagonia

First, just want to let you know that there is a different community section related to non-DC switching questions: https://community.cisco.com/t5/switching/bd-p/6016-discussions-lan-switching-routing

This sub-community is more DC-oriented (Nexus switches).

Second, "STP status Forwarding" simply means that the port is in Forwarding state from Spanning Tree perspective.

For more details about STP, I would recommend you start with: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/lan-switching/spanning-tree-protocol/5234-5.html

It will give you a better understanding on how STP works, what are different STP port roles and states and how they influence the STP tree.

Stay safe,

Sergiu
