VRFs routing + Data center + data links + SAN links

Hi All ,

We have 2 Links between Data center A and Data center B for data traffic ( both links carries traffic ) and 6 SAN links , aggregated using LACP  for backup traffic .

sepearte BGP instances are running between data centers for Data and SAN links , all are ethernet based links .

Data and SAN traffic are part of seperate VRF's.

I would like to know

1.In case of failure of both data links , is there any way of routing data traffic over SAN links ?

2. What kind of routing to be done w.r.to vrf so that data traffic would be flown through SAN links .

3.As soon as data links comes up then data traffic should get back to data links and only backup traffic should go through SAN links .

Data traffic links

---------------

Data center 1 switch   --> Gig 1/1 and gig 1/2       ---BGP ----- Gig 1/1 Gig 1/2 data center 2 switch

SAN traffic links

-------------

data center 1 switch  --> Gig 1/3 to 1/9 LACP  ---- BGP ----- Gig 1/3 to 1/9 LACP Data center 2 switch

any scenario based example would be appreciated highly ..

Many Thanks.

Hi @kmothukuri

When you say SAN links, which are ethernet ports, do you mean that over those links there is FCoE/FCIP traffic?

Are all the ports configured as trunk? If yes, then you can simply allow the 'non-SAN' vlans over the 'SAN ports' and change the STP link cost to make the desired interfaces in FWD and the other ones in Backup.

Hello

As both links (data-san) are running bgp load balancing does seem applicable

Can you confirm if the two sites are in the same AS and if possible post the bgp and vrf configurations from both sites please
