Can not find any resources in MSE10.1

Hi,

I am a new user in sandbox environment and need to set up a demo app for my company using the MSE10.1. I have succesfully managed to register and login to sandbox, however, when I choose the 'Mobility Services Engine 10.1' lab, there are no resources available to be added to the diagram.

Is there any missing plug-in on my browser, do I need to follow any other procedure(s) to be able to see/ modify the MSE 10.1 components on the diagram? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Leonidas

Hello Leonidas-

The MSE 10.1 is an always on lab where no reservation is required. You will not see the MSE resources in the lab diagram as you'd see in other labs. You may test against the accessible API's in the MSE lab, as the API's are publicly available. Here is part of the API URL's you can use, you will need to modify it depending on what you're trying to accomplish with this API call.

https://msesandbox.cisco.com:8081/api/location/v2/clients/

https://msesandbox.cisco.com:8081/api/location/v2/

And here's some information that will help walk you through using the lab:

Cisco DevNet: CMX Mobility Services - API Reference Manual

More information can be found in the instructions pane within the lab.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks!

Jacob

Jacob,

Can you point us to where exactly to find details on using non-reservation based DevNet labs? I'm struggling to find info to pass along.

Thanks!

Hello Jeff-

In order to take a look at the non-reservation based SandBox labs you'll just need to visit the Sandbox. Follow some of these steps below:

1.) Go to Cisco DevNet: Sandbox and check out this portal. Here you'll find various information about our labs and services.

2.) Click the 'Get Started' button on that page

After that, you'll be on the lab catalog. The first page is unsorted and contains all of our labs. You may filter out the selection using the choices on the right side of the page. Then when looking at labs, you'll notice that some lab tiles have a blue 'Reserve' button and others have a blue 'Always-On' button. That is one way to differente which labs are always on or reservation only.

You can then click the 'Always-on' button to get more details on that lab.

If you'd like, I can walk you thorough exploring our labs after the holidays.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks!

Jacob

Hello Jacob, Happy New Year

thank you for your answers.

The issue with the 'Always On' lab persists after I click on the 'Always-on' button.

There are 4 buttons shown: 'Commands', 'Attributes', 'Structure', and 'Create connection', which when clicked upon, a side-panel is shown, which is empty. From possible available resources at this side-panel I need to set up the MSE 10.1 as a demo environment, yet there are no resources offered.

Please have a look at the attached screenshot with empty panel at the right side of the screen. After I reach this screen, there is no available resource to click up on.

Thank you,

Leonidas

Hello Leonidas-

I understand your confusion. This is not an environment where you can select and create resources or servers within this lab. The page you have taken a screenshot of is simply a placeholder for the always-on lab. The always on lab means that the MSE server is actually publicly accessible by anyone, anytime. By following the instructions in the left pane, you will be able to make a few basic API calls to the MSE server. Since this lab is public and shared, we aren't allowed to offer any administrative access to this lab.

Do you need assistance in calling any of the available api's? Let me know if you have additional questions!

Thanks!

Jacob

Hi Leonidas,

Please, let us know if you have any further issues completing the DevNet learning labs for CMX.

Also, request support for CMX to Mobility Services API discussion forum.

Thanks,

Matt

Hello,
