Cisco 7965 phone unable to use SIP

Hi!  I have a Cisco 7965 phone that cannot be configured for SIP.  The phone contacts the TFTP server, downloads some files, and then resets its IP.  The status message log reads, "Trust List Update Failed."

What needs to be done for this phone to be configured for SIP?

Depending on the phone load currently on the 7965, you may need to upgrade it to an interim version before it can upgrade to the latest version.  See here for details:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/7900_series/firmware/9_4_2SR2/english/releasenotes/P790_BK_C7078DFD_00_cisco-unified-ip-phone-7900.html

We need to have our reservation on the sandbox extended.  All of our time has been spent with configuration issues.

Could we get another two weeks of time?

The instructions require me to upload the files to the TFTP server.  How do I do that?

Hi Chuck,

What kind of file are you uploading? is this a phone load?

Joe

I have a phone load, but my question is on the method of how to transfer it to the server.  I tried a tftp client, and the client failed with an error.  The instructions in the link just say to put the files on the TFTP server.  The 10.10.20.1 server doesn't have an ftp service running, the tftp service seems to be configured for download only, so I'm at a bit of a loss.

Hey Joe I’m not the group that is working on this

Brian Miller, our lead software test engineer is in charge of getting the test bed setup and functioning.

I just scheduled the test time.

Hi,

To upload a phone load, Navigate and  login to the CUCM  OS administration page. Then goto the Software Upgrade menu and select "Install/Upgrade". You will need to set up a TFTP on the server you have connected to the lab and use that IP address as the server IP i.e. 192.168.100.x if you server is connected to the router. Once the connection is made, transfer the file and install.

Regards,

Joe Kearns
