My intel CPU, Core i7-1165G7, do not support vPro. However, it supports VTx and EPT. Will it be able to run CML2.4?

Should be no problem but if you want confirmation from CML engineers go to CLN forum at

I do not see any issue, make sure you have enough RAM also if you looking to run more devices :
https://developer.cisco.com/docs/modeling-labs/#!system-requirements
check CPU and RAM requirement for the respecting Node or devices you looking to run :

thanks for sharing and I just got my laptop with 64GB RAM and will try it over this weekend. But, the HW requirement for running 8 NX-OS 9000 is 64GB. That is the minimum requirement. If I want to simulate large datacenter NW, that makes is really hard. Seems extremely inefficient for simulation. I see other non-9000 NX-OSs seem to take less RAM (3GB). Are those full fledge layer-3 images capable of running BGP/OSPF/VXLAN? Looking for efficient way of simulating large datacenter NW.

8 nodes of nexus os running more RAM and CPU ? what simulator/emulator do you feel is efficient, If you looking at Cisco images only CML can offer a License to use, rest of the simulator does not come with images.(node image like IOL nexus and xrv)

Oh no....you did not say u will use laptop for CML, Bad Idea ! You will burn out your laptop. You need a server based box to simulate large data center. You can access CML online via Dev Net Sandbox, they have a bit more resources, see https://developer.cisco.com/site/sandbox/
IOS-XRv 9000 needs 20 GB RAM, NX-OS 9000 needs 8 GB . Those are 64 bit images that is why they need more RAM and more space; their 32-bit version need less RAM.

I just bought a server tower. Will let you know how it goes. But, Cisco won't let me download the SW after I purchased Personal edition. It demands a company address be registered on my profile to download the SW. It is personal edition and I put in my residence address. Won't accept it. Why do personal edition need company associated with profile to download?
