Hello,
Seeing this error intermittently is quite normal and should be expected based on server load and smaller timeout value. If need be, you can test connectivity by trying to telnet. Also, I'll probably work on filing a defect just to see if there's anything else we can do on our end to assist with the error.
telnet v2.sds.cisco.com 443
It may also help to increase the timeout for this setting from the CLI.
mail.rtp.esa> sdradvancedconfig
Enter the Sender Domain Reputation query timeout in seconds
[5]>
Thanks!

Hello,
I'm sorry to hear that. What is not working exactly? Are you still seeing the errors? If so, how often? Also, did you try testing the connectivity?
Thanks!

Yes, I'm still receiving the messages. Your solution decreased it from 15 to 2-3 times a day.

I did not increase the timeouts (in fact I haven't done anything about this at all) but my messages also have decreased from 15 to 2-3 times a day.

Thanks all for the feedback.
One thing to mention would be that there has been a recent code upgrade over the past few weeks to the SDS/SDR servers which potentially assisted with decreasing the number of these errors. If you're seeing them only in small increments and intermittently throughout the day, then that is to be expected (at least at the moment) and can be safely ignored assuming connectivity is successful.
Thanks!

I have the same problem since I updated my ironport to the Version 12.0.0-419.
I receive error Mails every 30min.

Same issue here, error start the first night after upgrade to v12. I'm tring to increase the time out to 5 sec to see what happen.

We've the same problem and get actually from 10 to 20 error messages of that type per day, although I've raised the timeout from 2 sec (the default) to 10 sec. Can we even safely ignore that amount of messages? What is leading to that message? Is it really a connection timeout, or is this a "wrong" error message?

Getting the same alert after upgrading to 12.0.0-419. Is there a fix? Any value in opening a ticket?
