I am in the process of replacing two C160s that are currently in a cluster with two C170s. I have the first C170 up and added it to the C160 cluster to get the initial config and have removed it because I need to make changes to the listeners. I'll then create a new C170 only cluster which I will add the second C170 to. Basically I want to have the new systems up and running and fully tested and then I'll change all my pointers to them.
My hangup right now is licensing. I don't want to rehome my C160 licenses and would like to get the C170s on my same license. I thought I read at one time with an ESA license you can have multiple appliances under a license because it's the number of users you're licensing. I can't find any additional information though.
Does anyone know what my options are?

You're correct.
go to the product licensing tool here:
https://tools.cisco.com/SWIFT/LicensingUI/Quickstart#.
On the right click on Get Other Licenses, select Email and Web Security Appliance.
Fill out the next screen, and you should get the activation codes.. I think you can just do the SW bundle, by you may need to do one for the perpetual keys too.
