[solved] IronPort C370, /xml/status, description of gauge "bm_utilization"?

Hi,

we're developing an addon to our monitoring system using values from https://<IronPort>/xml/status.

Comparing the different parameters with content of WUI "System Status" page we were able to map all but one parameter: <gauge name=”bm_utilization” current=”0” />.

Does anyone of you know which value this param represents?

Many thanks in advance!

Regards,

Marcel

Hi Marcel,

"bm_utilization" refers to the CPU utilisation by BrightMail scanning engine. In older days, there was an option to chose different Anti-Spam scanning engines and BrightMail was one of them.

As we now have IPAS and best of breed IMS for far better and accurate results, there is no need to run multiple/thirdparty anti-spam scanning engines. However, the option is still there.

Hope this will answer your query.
