Hi,

Which versions are currently running on the C190 and M195 and what is the version you wish to upgrade to?

I would also suggest to check the upgrade options on the appliance (System Administration > System Upgrade) and check the Release notes: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/security/email-security-appliance/products-release-notes-list.html

Please also verify the Compatibility Matrix for the SMA: https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/security/security_management/sma/sma_all/SMA-ESA-WSA_Compatibility.pdf

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Mike

Hello,

You can try to upgrade your appliance via below two options:

1) You can check for the upgrade path for your C190 appliance via the release notes of various Async OS versions shown in the below link:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/security/email-security-appliance/products-release-notes-list.html

Alternatively, I can help you with the upgrade path (to the latest Async OS version your appliance can reach) if you can let me know the serial number of your appliance.

Once the upgrade path is determined then you can follow the steps mentioned in the below article to perform step by step upgrade to the latest Async OS version upgrade.
Upgrade Procedure: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/email-security-appliance/117793-technote-esa-00.html

2) In order to perform the upgrade locally, you have to setup a server on which you can download the Async OS version from the below link:
http://updates.ironport.com/fetch_manifest.html
Once the Async OS version is downloaded then you can proceed further with the upgrade by following the steps in the below article:
Local Upgrade Process: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/email-security-appliance/117804-technote-wsa-00.html

I would recommend you follow the first option which is more convenient, however, both options are feasible for the upgrades.

I hope this helps!

Cheers,
Pratham

Hi,

I didn't check the appliance upgrade option. will check.

Thanks..

Appliance upgrade gives you the right path and direction so it will only upgrade a legitimate path for you.

Hello supun1989,

The upgrades are not permitted to be downloaded separate from the appliance.
Upgrades are performed from within the GUI or CLI of the appliance.

There need to be accessibility through the network for the appliance to reach the download servers (check user guide for ports)
You would possibly receive multiple version options to instsall. Install the highest number version. 12.x.x version if presented.

Cli > upgrade … then follow the prompts.

Webui > system administration > system upgrade > upgrade options … follow the prompts.
