Doing upgrade of Ironport C300V in a two node cluster.
upgrading from 12.1.0 to 12.5.1 build 37
disconnected nodes from cluster as usual, first node failedfirst attempt but worked second attempt.
second node failes all the times with:
Removing unwanted files in nextroot done.
Extracting distroot
/nextroot: write failed, filesystem is full
./var/db/pkg/repo-example.sqlite: Write failed
./root/.ssh/: Write to restore size failed
./root/.cshrc: Write to restore size failed
./root/.profile: Write to restore size failed
./dev/null: Write to restore size failed
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors.
The system upgrade failed. This could be the result of a network interruption
or a more serious error. If this problem persists, please contact customer
support.
tried from CLI and GUI, getting same error
tried reboot before upgrade.
This looks like there is not enough space on the disk, how can I check ?
Suggestions on how to solve this?

i had the same problem, after one or two reboots, the upgrade suddenly worked.
It wasn't a problem with low disk space

did about 10 retries and finally got the upgrade working.
VERY bad experience Cisco.

This may be due to maintenance on the backend.
Glad all working as expected finally.

Raise an TAC case for support. (it was advised some time back reboot and upgrade)
But worth open a case.

Same issue here. After several (re)attempts and a couple of reboots, it went on.
