2800 SRST with CME Upgrade

I'm upgrading UCM from version 5.1 to 9.1. As part of the process I expect I have to upgrade all voice gateway routers from their current 12.4 IOS to the upgrade the latest version 15 IOS. I plan to to upgrade the routers prior to performing the UCM upgrade.

The voice gateway routers are a mixture of 2851, 2821, 2811 and 2801 platforms. They were initially sold and deployed as Survivable Remote Site Telephony (Call Manager Express) bundles.

Additional DRAM and new 128M compact flash has been purchased for each router in order to accommodate the new version 15 IOS.

I've upgraded the DRAM on the first 2821 router but get the following error when trying to FTP the new version 15 IOS image on to the new compact flash:

gw1#copy tfttp flash:

Address or name of remote host [172.17.3.39]?

Source filename [c2800nm-spservicesk9-mz.124-11.XJ3.bin]? c2800nm-spservicesk9-mz.151-4.M5.bin

Destination filename [c2800nm-spservicesk9-mz.151-4.M5.bin]?

Accessing

ftp://172.17.3.39/c2800nm-spservicesk9-mz.151-4.M5.bin

...

%Warning: File not a valid executable for this system

Abort Copy? [confirm] NMS_Kittochside_gw1#

Is the error above due to the fact that I need a specific image for SRST and CME and therefore am trying to load the wrong image?

Hi Brian,

Please ensure that you have downloaded the image for the correct platform. For 2800 series, you will notice that they all begin with c2800nm, so it might get mixed up at times :-)

Also, the command you entered "copy tfttp flash" and not "copy ftp flash"? It seems you are using ftp to transfer the file, might wanna try using the latter command and see if that also helps.

HTH.
