Hello All,
I would like to repurpose an old 3845 WAN router we have here at work to support FXS channels, but I'm not 100% sure on what cards would get me the most channels. I've read in the 3845 product sheet that it can support 88 FXS ports, but the highest density card I can seem to find only supports 8 FXS ports, the EVM-HD-8FXS/DID. Could anyone tell me what combination of cards would get me up to 32-64 FXS channels?
This router already has a PVDM2-64 module and is running "C3845-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M 12.4.(15)T3" for its image.

Hi Zach,
The 3845 supports 2 EVM modules.
Ref:

Each EVM extnesion module further has two expansion modules EM0 and EM1, with a capability to support 8 FXS each. So in total one EVM module can support up to 24 FXS.
Ref: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/interfaces/nm/hardware/installation/guide/exvoimod.html#wp1057899
The 8-port analog voice/fax expansion module (EM-HDA-8FXS and EM3-HDA-8FXS) adds an additional eight FXS ports to the Cisco high-density extension module.
So one EVM will have a capacity for upto 24 FXS and 2 will have 48. On top of that you can further install FXS cards in the available 4xHWIC slots as well.
Hope thats helpful.
