Hi,
Is there any third party syslog server which can be integrated with CUCM 7.1 at the OS level?
Thank You

Hi,
the easiest would be to install practically any Linux distribution since it has syslog already running and can accept remote syslog messages.
Or, if your choice is Windows, googling "windows remote syslog" will give you tons of matches.

Hi Gergely,
Thanks for the reply.
The customer is already using snare. But his question is, if the cucm OS crashes or any error is reported on the appliance OS, will it be logged on any 3rd party server? Here I am not talking about CUCM application logs. His CUCM is 7.1.
Thanks

Hi,
well, if the OS crashes, then you won't see no syslog, there would be nothing to send it.
You might want to take a look at the Serviceability Guide for your CUCM version in order to see what is being reported and on what condition.

Hi,
Is there any cisco supported 3rd party syslog server? Linux based or Windows based no problem.

Linux has built in syslog, no additional application is necessary.
Windows: not aware of any syslog solution explicitly supported by Cisco.

Hi G,
Ok. Thanks for that info. But is there any cisco recommended syslog server for cucm?
Thank You
