6851 IP Phone Web Portal Disabled?

Hey there,

 

I just got a second-hand 6851 IP phone for the purposes of learning to configure VoIP. Forgive me, but I am very new to this space and my technical knowledge is extremely limited.

 

When I try to access the phone's web portal in my web browser, I'm met with a white page with a loading-wheel in the center, and the page will not load. I'm not sure why it won't load and I haven't found a solution to this particular problem on this forum, or anywhere else.  

 

Where should I start with this issue?

I'd start by doing a factory reset and then see if it works

The factory reset gave me access to the phone's webpage, but none of Cisco's default passwords that I've seen (cisco, admin, user, engineer) worked for the user or admin account, giving me an authentication error.  Then I used the password that I set for the phone directly after the reset, and while I got the same result for the admin account, the user account didn't give me an authentication error but just displayed the same white page and would not load...

 

Thoughts?

Try "admin" and no password.
