6921 handset not logging calls, "Insert calllog failed"

We've had a call from a user complaining that his 6921 handset (and a number of colleagues) is not locally logging calls correctly. Indeed, looking at the handset's status messages we see lots of the following:

[11:42:45, 02/21/2013] CALLLOG : Insert calllog failed. Erase call log block

And the console log reveals matching instances of the following:

ffs_WriteBinToFlashDisk : offset(154368)+size(128) > ffs_sz(131072)

FlashEraseBlock(b0740000,b074ffff);

.FlashEraseBlock(b0790000,b07affff);

..-1228235719 - CALLLOG : Insert calllog failed. Erase call log block

12:10:38, 02/19/2013 : CALLLOG : Insert calllog failed. Erase call log block

CALLLOG : CallLog Insert Failed(-5).

Resetting the handset has not had any effect. None of the errors above is turned up by a Google search. Anyone got an bright ideas?

Hi Gary,

  I've seen similar issues and the resolution is to upgrade firmware to the latest release.

Cisco Unified IP Phone 6900 Series Release Notes for Firmware Release 9.3(3)

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/6900_series/firmware/9_3_3/release_notes/P069_BK_R9A78776_00_rn-9_3_3-6900-series.html

This should resolve the issue.

Regards,

Aashish
