6941 Phones and Call Back

Hi to all

we have 6941 phones and you already know that they have only one line.Call waiting is not supported by this series

So  we have creted another one virtual extension and when the first line is  busy then the second call going to the second extension

Everything is ok except call back

Lets say that the first extension has the number 800 and the second extension has the number 810

If  the number 800 is on the phone and the second call going to 810 then if  you set the  call back then it be assigned to 810 number. Is this  possible to be aasigned only to the 800 number , or when the call leave  from the 800 number and going to 810 then is not possible

Thank you

Hi Chrysostomos,

Sadly "Callback" is registered against the final number in this scenario which

would be 810 so it's really working as designed

But, as an FYI I thought you would like to know that the 6941 (6900 series)

does support "Multiple calls per Line" with CUCM 8.6 and Firmware 9.2.x

this info was nicely supplied by Gordon (GTC)

Check out Table 11;

Cisco Unified IP Phone Firmware 9.2(1) Features

The following table lists the new features and the Cisco Unified IP Phone families affected by the Cisco Unified IP Phone 9.2(1) firmware release. In some cases, features are only applicable to part of a phone family, and these restrictions are noted in the table. For more information about each feature and the phones that support the feature, see the sections that follow the table.

Rob

You are like my hero

i knew that 6900 series didnt support multiple calls per line. Now with 8.6 it seems that is supported(new infos for me and really thank you for that....

Can i ask here the below or is better to open a new discussion

i HAVE a CUCM 8.5 cluster mode in a virtual Environment RUNNING ESXi 4.1..(UCS210)

I know that i have to follow the structure from the below link

  https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-16898

BUT what happen with the ova file..i have to create a new virtual machine with the ova file for cucm 8.6?

what is the correct  Procedure for (cucm 8.6 upgrade) in a virtual Environment

If you can provide some links related to the correct Procedure in a virtual Environment it will be great

Many thanks

Hi Chrysostomos,

You are always welcome my friend

We have not done that upgrade so probably a new thread is really your best bet

as there will be a number of "due diligence" type tasks to look after before upgrading.

Cheers!
