I am attempting to install our first 6945 IP phone, but I can't get it to register. I am using CUCM 8.0(3) and SCCP phone load 9.2.1.0. The odd thing is that I see the phone as registered in CUCM, but the phone display always shows "Phone not registered". Has anyone else seen this?
Also, I am not sure if the new licensing scheme has anything to do with it. All the DLUs that I have on CUCM were ordered through the legacy process. We just ordered the DLUs as we needed them. Is there something special required for licensing the 6945 phones?
Thanks,
Mark

I found that I am able to register the phone using SIP, but not SCCP. I would prefer to use SCCP.
Thanks,

If your full 8.0.3 CUCM version is not later than 8.0.3.22018-1 you will have to install the QED file first before the phone will work properly.

My version is 8.0.3.22900-5, but I attempted to install the QED file anyway and then the SCCP 9.1.1.0 COP file. I see the phone install the 9.1.1.0 version but it still does the same thing as before. Does the server require a reboot after installing the QED file?
Thanks,
Mark

Yes you need to reboot after installing the QED.

HI All,
Did you ever manage to sort this issue out. I have a customer with a few 6945 that are working correctly, but an seeing a few phones showing as registered in CUCM, but unrigistered on the phone. However if the phones are configured for EM I can still loginto the phone and it all works fine.
I am running CUCM 7.1.3.32900-4, have installed the latest firmware COP as well.
Any ideas appreciated.
Cheers
Jason

Hi,
Look at the serveur DHCP. Use static address IP for the IP Phone and check.
If the server DHCP not supplied more address ip, the IP Phone not registered.
Have you do 'Hard Reset' ?

I got in our new order of 6945 phones recently and attempted to configure them and had the same issue where they show registered in CUCM, but show "Phone not registered" on the phone. I opened a TAC case and was informed that this was a known bug when a custom phone button template was applied to the phone and is being looked into by the developers. The workaround at this point is to use the standard phone button template and configure each phone button layout individually. The TAC engineer is reaching out to the developers to see if there is an update on the status of the bug.

I was given bug ID CSCts72326 for this issue. The TAC engineer said it may not be available to view for a few days.
