Hi everybody

CUCM----SW-----R1

              | |

              | |

             phone1, phone2

Above R1 is dhcp server, and NTP time source. CUCM 7 is also running tftp.

I have two 7940 phones attached to sw . Both phones have firmware PC03A300

How can i specify firmware PC03A300 in configuration file on tftp server running on CUCM?  ( The goal is to avoid any firmware updates as I do not have access to latest firmware)

This is my first time messing with CUCM. So far no smoke : )

thanks and have a great day.

Hello,

Not sure why you don't want the phone to upgrade the firmware, but in the configuration-page of the phone in CUCM you can specify the exact firmware version that you want the phone to grab/keep. If this is the same as the FW on your phone already, it won't get upgraded. If you leave this field empty, the FW will become the default that comes with your version of CUCM.

Thanks Gert.

I do not have access to the latest FW. I am just implementing a simple home lab to study for CCNA V.

thanks

Hello,

When you install CUCM the FW that comes with this version gets automatically installed - or are you using CUCM Express ?
