We are curently running CallManger ver 7.0.1.11002. The current firmware on the 7941G is SCCP41.8-4-1S and we want to upgrade to firmware version 8.5(2). Looking at the release notes it talks about device packs. What are device packs? Is that something we need to worry about for this firmware upgrade?

Hi dtom,
As you are already using the 7941's you just need the upgraded firemware files.
The device pack is to allow new phones to be added to the database, e.g. if you had purchase some new 8945's that were not supported by default.
Sounds like you just need:
cmterm-7941_7961-sccp.8-5-2.cop.sgn |
Release Date: 01/JUN/2009 |
7941/7961 SCCP IP Phone load - Compatible CUCM Versions: 5.0(4)+ |

Hope that makes sense!

We also have some 7961G phones running SCCP41.8-4-1S with 7914 Expantion Modules running S00105000300. Do we need to upgrade the 7914 too? If so, do we upgrade the phone first then the 7914? Also, if we need to upgrade the 7914 can we do it later and will they still work with the old firmware?
