What kind of switch is the phone connected to and not working?  What is the output of "show inline power".  Both the 7940 and 7942 use 6.3 watts so the switch should have enough power since it's the same requirement.

this is error message when i connect 7942G to Switch :

fa0/27  auto   power-deny   0.0   n/a   n/a  6.3

seemingly i need increase power max consumption ,right?

this is switch type:ws-c3560-48ps

this is switch IOS:c3560-ipbasek9-M

any help will be grateful . thx in advance

Like joemar mention above, use "sh inline power" on your POE switch, and calculate for available power (watt) on your switch to handle one 7942. it seems the problem is your POE 48 port switch doesn't have enough power to cover your 7942 phone.

POE-Switch>show power inline

Available:370.0(w)  Used:63.0(w)  Remaining:307.0(w)

personally i think i need increase port power  max consumption
