7961 profile logging into a 7841 phone.

Hi,

Recently we have purchased some 7841 Cisco Phones, these phones have fours lines on them. Our contact centre uses 7961 and 7962 phones and these have 6 lines on the phones.

The contact centre agents using these phones have the following phones button template for 796X

Button 1: Line

Button 2: Speed Dial

Button 3: None

Button 4: None

Button 5: None

Button 6: Service URL

The Service URL is a shortcut for the Extension Mobility Logout button. When an agent with the phone button template 796X logs into the 7841 phone it doesn't have the Service URL. Is there a way to give a user two phones button templates and it will use a 4 line template if they login to the 7841 phone and the 6 line template if they log into the 796X phone. I could upgrade all the 6 line profiles to move the Service URL to Button 4 but some agents have move than one speed dial.

We are using Cisco Unified CM Administration: System version: 8.6.2.24900-17

Hope this make sense.

Thanks

Anthony.

Hi Anthony,

The feature that controls this behavior is called Extension Mobility Equivalency as described in the following link

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/10_0_1/ccmfeat/CUCM_BK_F3AC1C0F_00_cucm-features-services-guide-100/CUCM_BK_F3AC1C0F_00_cucm-features-services-guide-100_chapter_011000.html#CUCM_RF_EDCB3C30_00

The 78XX series IP phones do not seem to support it however the 99XX and 89XX do support it.

I would however recommend checking with TAC if this info is updated.

Hi Anthony,

I agree with my friend Manish here (+5) that you would want to use "Size Safe on Phone Template for EM Equivalency."  as described in the doc below;

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/10_0_1/ccmfeat/CUCM_BK_F3AC1C0F_00_cucm-features-services-guide-100/CUCM_BK_F3AC1C0F_00_cucm-features-services-guide-100_chapter_011000.html#CUCM_RF_EDCB3C30_00

I think the caveat here is that you would need to move the Service URL to button 4 and the additional 2 speed dials to buttons 5 & 6 for this to work the way you want. Feature Safe/Size safe support for the 7800 series like the 7841 was added with the release of Device pack 8.6(2)(26157-1) as shown in the note below that relates to CSCus20746;

Cisco IP Phone 7821, 7841 and 7961 Firmware Release 10.2(1) Cisco Unified Communications Manager DevicePackage 8.6(2)(26157-1) improvesthe database configuration capability for Cisco IPPhone 7821, 7841, and 7861Firmware Release 10.2(1). You must download and install Cisco Unified Communications Manager Device Package 8.6(2)(26157-1) for the Device Pack dependent features listed in the Cisco IP Phone 7821, 7841, and 7861 Firmware Release 10.2(1)
