My employee has set up her voicemail password and everything on her phone at her desk, but she has recently informed me she can't remember her password and can't access her messages. I've been told to just reset the phone, but if we do that, I've been told she'll lose her extension number and all the setups we had done on her phone. This wouldn't be a problem, except our IT guy just quit and none of us know how to re-setup her phone on our network. Is there a way we can recover the password she had set up, so we can go in and change it to something she will rememeber without resetting it completely, or are we unable to do so, and my employee will be without a direct phone number until we can get someone else in to fix it?

Resetting voicemail PINs do not impact the IP Phone's registration. Which voicemail product and version are you using?

The voicemail product is the Cisco Unity express messaging system. The version I'm not sure of.

Assuming Unity Express 8.6 and CME in this answer. You can modify the PIN through the GUI (page 37, Configure > Users) or the CLI. The PIN is the numeric value used through the phone while the password is the alphanumeric value used through the browser. The Unity Express product landing page will contain a complete set of documentation.
