What do the icons mean on the 8800 expansion module?
When you look at the picture for example there is a colored bubble with a number in it next to a line.

I have seen that document and fail to see where is states what the number means in the bubble.

Can you post picture of what you are seeing?
What color is the bubble? Normally it would show missed calls/voicemail messages count.

The blue icon identified if the button is associated with Line, Speed Dial, BLF, service, etc. and if it is a Line then it shows status, i.e. on hook, off hook, etc.
The red count tells you how many missed calls/voicemail messages are on that line.
The Yellow/Green/etc next to a BLF shows that monitored line status, i.e. available, on call, etc.
