8861/8865 with External speakers

Hi,

I see that the 8861/8865 phones support external speakers. Has anyone tested these with external speakers? Good/Bad?

Specifically looking to use them in a warehouse environment

I tried the external 3.5mm speaker connection on the 8865NR. It does not work. Phone says accessory added and speaker in now connected but nothing. I opened a TAC case and tried different phones with different firmware and different models of powered speakers. Never could get it to work.
