Ad hoc and DSP

GUNGIT2012

Hi,

We have CUCM10.0 and Cisco 2911 with H.323 gateway. I have checked the dsp group on 2911, their are all up and available.

Now the problem is the internal conference and external conference. When we using the conference button with internal extensions, the conference can be setup and working normally, if we want to setup the conference with outbound caller, it is ended after add the second caller.

Is there any setup on Cisco 2911 or CUCM10.0? Could you give us some suggestions to setup conference with external caller?

Thanks

Hi Can you include a screen shot from your CUCM?

Go to Media Resources>Conference Bridge (and find this bridge named GZEQCF1) > Click on it and take a screen shot

-Terry

Edit: Also add the below commands on your gateway

conf t

sccp ccm group 1

associate ccm 2 priority 2

exit

no sccp

sccp

end

Wait for few mins and run below commands and post the output:

sh sccp

ping 10.161.243.91 so g0/0

ping 10.161.243.92 so g0/0

And said above screen shot from CUCM

Can you post the below output from your router:

sh run | s sccp|dspf

sh sccp

Can you also confirm what media resources you have in your Media Resource Group that's assigned to the MRGL applied to these device? MRGL is applied under the device pool (you can check from there)? Are you using G711 codec for all parties when conferencing or anything other than that (check from Region settings)

-Terry

Hi Terry,

Thanks for your kindly reply.

There is nothing with sh run | s sccp|dspf.

#sh sccp
SCCP Admin State: DOWN
Gateway Local Interface: None
IP Precedence: 5
User Masked Codec list: None

And the other settings about MRGL is correct.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Ok according to your original post you mentioned checking DSP so I assumed you are using Hardware conferencing bridge, which clearly is not the case from your above post.

Can you also confirm you can call external numbers directly, its just the conference calls having problem?

For conferencing to work you either need a software based bridge (which is fine but it will support only G711 codec) or if you need to support other codec you need to setup hardware conferencing bridge. In your case you appear to be using software based bridge.

You need to have the conference bridge resource assigned to the MRG and corresponding MRGL applied to the device pool to have this work. If thats already done.

Check from your region settings if there is any party involved in the conference using codes other than G711 as the software bridge will only support G711.

Or your option is to configure conf bridge on your router and assign to the MRG\MRGL.

Follow any of the below link to do that if you need to do that:

Hi Terry,

Thanks for your help.

Sorry, Just post the wrong sh sccp. Please find the attachement for the right one. Could you please help me to check again?

BTW, we can call external numbers directly. its just conference calls having problem.

Thanks

Here is the culprit, your conference bridge is showing TCP connection error. Can you confirm if its a new setup or existing setup and it stopped working?

Can you try below steps:

1) Reset conf bridge:

conf t

dspfarm profile X conference - substitue X with your config

shut

yes

no shut

exit

2) Reset SCCP:

no sccp

sccp

3) Post sh run and sh sccp

4) Also post the screen shot from CUCM showing this conference bridge (just want to confirm if it has correct name and type)

-Terry

Hi Can you include a screen shot from your CUCM?

Go to Media Resources>Conference Bridge (and find this bridge named GZEQCF1) > Click on it and take a screen shot

-Terry

Edit: Also add the below commands on your gateway

conf t

sccp ccm group 1

associate ccm 2 priority 2

exit

no sccp

sccp

end

Wait for few mins and run below commands and post the output:

sh sccp

ping 10.161.243.91 so g0/0

ping 10.161.243.92 so g0/0

And said above screen shot from CUCM

Hi Terry,

Thanks for your kindly help.

We made a mistake of the Conference bridge name between gateway and call-manager, now conference bridge can register to call-manager after we changed the same name.

There is also a problem about the conference call of external(PSTN):

1.I started a conference, call fisrt external number is okay, when I press the conference button, the first call is busy and waiting, I added the second external number, it can be connected, but all calls are ended when I press conference button again.

2.I started another conference, call fisrt external number is okay, when I press the conference button, the first call is busy and waiting, I added the second Internal number, it can be connected, I pressed conference button again, and the external number ended, but the internal number still online.

Can you help us to check what is the problem? Is there anything about the MTP settings on call manager?

Thanks

Ok - Please confirm below:

1) Your conference bridge registered in CUCM:

Post sh sccp and attach screen shot from CUCM

2) The conference bridge is assigned to MRG

3) MRG is assigned to MRGL

4) MRGL is applied under the Device pool of the device you are trying to test.

Hi Terry,

You're right, just checked what you mentioned, we missed the conference bridge on MRG, now it is working, thanks for your kindly help again.

Good stuff - glad to know its working. Please mark the thread as answered and do rate all helpful posts.

Hi Terry,

Today I tried to have a test about the conference bridge for external number again, but after added the second external number, all calls ended.

I am sure that there is nothing changed after we tested successfully last time.

CUCM:

1) conference bridge GZEQCF1 registered in CUCM

2) The conference bridge is assigned to MRG

3) MRG is assigned to MRGL

4) MRGL is applied under the Device pool of the device you are trying to test.

Strange - can you try this:

shut

yes

no shut

Confirm and once the conference bridge is registred - test again.
