Hi
as described in the cisco documentation of LDAP Directory Configuration at "Table 12-2" additional attributes like "Mobile" and "Homephone" are synchronized from the LDAP into the CUCM directory. Is there any way to display these additional numbers in the IP phones Corporate Directory? Currently only the primary phone number is displayed of our employees.
We've some external employees where their number is stored in the "mobilephonenumber" attribute. Can this attribute be displayed in the directory?
Thanks,
Norbert

Not with the default corporate directory script, you can create your own custom directory on which you can show as much info as you like.
You'll need to develop the script and host it in a separate web server, in CUCM it's just a matter of creating the directory phone service and then subscribe the phones to it.

Allright, I'll see if we're doing this. But maybe a feature request for a future update.
Thanks!

Hi Norbert
Another way of doing this is to use a "corporate" Personal Address Book. You can create a phone service on CUCM that points to the URL for the Personal Address Book, and also provides a userid / PIN to auto log on. Under this PAB you can centrally create as many entries as you like including additional numbers such as cell phones. Because the service auto logs onto the PAB when the button is pressed, all users see is a central phone directory (and don't even realise it is actually a PAB). There is of course no linkage between this phone book and your CUCM directory which is populated from LDAP, and it needs to be maintainec separately.
We created a dedicated CUCM end user called "PAB" and added all of the address book entries under this account. The phone service logs onto this account when the button is pressed on the phone.
I haven't tested this under CUCM 8.x, however it definitely works fine under 7.x.

Norbert,
Another way, with no work on your end ;), is to use a 3rd party solution such as www.2Ring.com/IPPS. IPPS offers unlimited number of corporate (automatically synced with LDAP or other sources) and personal directories (synced with MS Exchange address books, gmail, Facebook). On top of that, all these contacts are then used for caller identification (CLID). If this sounds interesting, you can request a free trial at www.2Ring.com/NewJuice.

Norbert,
You can use a very simple application called VisualView http://www.visualviewmail.com that will let you pull both "Mobile" and "Office" phone number from Active Directory and Microsoft Outlook. The Outlook contacts feature can be easily disabled if you’re not using MS Exchange. There is a video on the site that will demo how the "Mobile" directory feature works.
