Analogue ports not working - simple setting ?

IOSHCISCO

Hi,

We are about to go live with our new cicso phone system and as our last problem to solve before we can is our analogue cards!

We've an anagloe card giving us sfx (ffx) analogue ports, we can recieve calls to the fax machines or spiderphones but cannot make any and more to the point recieve no dialling tone we instead get just like a popping noise when you take the equipment offhook.

As much as we've allowed our suppliers to try and fix our problems as they've occured most the time i've found they just end up putting support calls (tech cases) with Cisco themselves - this is fine but with other things and the fact that they initially set our system up incorrectly leaves us with some doubts over them hence i'm writing this as i do not believe this can be any more than a simple tickbox????  somewhere

Any ideas ?

Thanks,

Jamie

For starters you need to be specific with what equipment is involved here.

  • What hardware part numbers are you using to provide the FXS ports?
    • What signaling protocol is it running?
    • What software version?
  • What is your call agent (UCM or CME) and version?
  • Is there a firewall or NAT device between the FXS equipment and the call agent?
