Background images and IP phones

I've followed the steps to changing the background images on our IP phones to show the company logo, but the image is still not appearing, just wondering if this capability is only available on 7961 phones and up? Our office uses 7940 and 7960 phones, but I noticed in the steps I was following, it had a 7961, and a few other articles had a 7961 in the steps. Am I out of luck, I know it would be nice if everyone here could look and see the company logo on their phone, not too mention it would be a nice feather in my cap ...Thanks

7940/7960 only accept idle url, you cannot configure a background as such.

Background images are not supported for Cisco 7960/7940 phones. You can use idle url to do so check the below link
