Hi,
I have all details that I need for using Cisco 7961G IP Phone but I am unable to find out the exact bandwidth that would be used by one of these phones while in use and while not in use. I have tried to find this information everywhere but not been sucessfull. The reason I need to know about bandwidth is because I have a constraint on the bandwidht available to me which is just 256 kbps. Your help is much appreciated

It's the same for all phones, G.711 over ethernet takes about 90 Kbps.

Thanks P.Bevilacqua,
Pardon this Q. How much is the usage while the phone is not in use?

There is no bandwidth being used when phone is not used except for signaling keepalive which is about 4 bytes every 30 seconds.
As far as when phone is in use it depends on the codec being used, with G711 call it's about 87 kbps over ethernet, and 31 kbps with G729, plus signaling which is 4 bytes for every button press essentially.
HTH,
Chris
