What are the bare minimum files that need to be on flash for a CMe-as-SRSt configuration? I am tight on space and dont need anything like the gui or misc. items other than a few phnoe types to function when registered to the gateway.

None whatsoever.
However, any decent Compact Flash, or USB memory costs few dollars, and works fine.
