BAT question - Removing phone lines but leaving Device Profile Line in place

Hi,

We're running CUCM 9.1 - I want to be able to remove just the phone line from 150 phones

but leave the line/extension in place on the Device Profile. So effectively the phone no longer

has a line/extension on it and the user has to login to be able to use the phone via their

device profile.

Is there a way to do that in BAT - or will I have to export the phone details and the device profiles,

update phone details, delete the existing Phones and DP and then BAT back in?

You should be able to accomplish this by doing a full phone export with BAT, removing the DN from the .CSV, and then re-uploading the phones, over writing the existing values.

Keep in mind that this will only work with SCCP phones, as SIP phones will not register without a line assigned.

A better option may be to assign dummy DNs to line 1 on each of the phones with a restricted CSS that does not allow any calling.
