DETAILED STEPS
| Command or Action | Purpose |
Step 1 | enable Example: Router>enable | Enables privileged EXEC mode. •Enter your password if prompted. |
Step 2 | configure terminal Example: Router#configure terminal | Enters global configuration mode. |
Step 3 | license boot modulemodule-nametechnology-packagepackage-name Example: Router(config)#license boot module c3900 technology-package securityk9 | Enables the evaluation license. Use the ? command with the modulecommand to see the module name for your router, and with the technology-packagecommand to see the software packages and features supported on your router. |
Step 4 | exit Example: Router(config)#exit | Exits global configuration mode. |
Step 5 | reload Example: Router#reload | Reloads the router. A reload is required to activate the software package. |
Example
The following example shows how to activate an evaluation license:
Router> enable
Router# configure terminal
Router(config)# license boot module c3900 technology-package data

Dear Venkitesh,
Thanks for your feedback. We have already procured CME-SRST license-(225). Do i need to install the same or it will work automaticaly after 60 days?
May i start configuring phone now with EvalRightToUse license ?
Will it work ?
I have to start my IP-PABX Operation and can't wait for 60 more days.
To start configuration, do i need to do any thing extra ?
Di i need to genarate any license key with PAK key from cisco ;icense page ?
03-05-2013 02:06 AM
Hello Banik,
There is no other license other than the paper license which you receive when you get the router.
Yes you can start ahead with the configuration and all the IP Phones will start working. This will continue to work even after the evaluation period is over. No worries.
Just limit the ephones to 225 in telephony-service. Thats it.
Remaining else everything will work perfect. No worries / issues.
Best of luck with your configuration. Any queries / issues with configuration, just make a post and we are there to help you out.
Thanks & Regards,
Venkitesh

Hi Banik,
Just to add what Mr. Iyer has said License Type would get changed to RightTOUse after 60 days and is valid for 12 years. You can run the command show license detail cme-srst to check the status after 60 days.
Licenses are honor based and cannot be enforced.

Banik,
Yes what you have written is correct.
The router will show all the licenses are permanent. And the License Count total is 240. And /0 will show how many IP Phones are Registered.
There is no need to install / add any other license.
Hope this helps.
Thanks & Regards,
Venkitesh
