Call forward from Skype for Business user blocked in CUCM.

Hi ,

Good Day .

I am working on a issue on the call forwarding on the skype for business 2015 .

My customer has integration of CUCM and SfB with SIP trunk . Inbound and Outbound Call from SfB user are fine and they are able to set the call forwarding to their mobile as well .

However the call forwarding only work on the internal call .

When an external call to the user , the call forwarding will not work and blocked at CUCM. I have capture the CCM logs on the call manager and found

Blocked call -- Suspect it is due to the calling number not authorize and with (+) in front .

Need some help to suggest how to fixed it .

Thanks.

Hi,

You need to have translation pattern which matches \+! and translate the
number to match your dialplan

Thanks for your reply .

Sorry, I should provide more info .

Actually the calling number is "+6138XXXXXXX" where it is an external number. The call flow as below

"+6138XXXXXXX" > Cisco Voice gateway > CUCM > Skype for business > 8XXX > Call forward > CUCM > Cisco Voice gateway > mobile 004XXXXXXXX .

I am suspecting when the Skype for business call forward it to the mobile 004XXXXXXXX  , it may be blocked by CUCM as it see the calling number are external number "+6138XXXXXXX" .

Is the translation rule applicable for the Calling number ?

Hi Kelvin,

In DA we could see "NoPotentialMatchesExist". Can you confirm how the call forwarding is configured. I guess it should be on the SFB server but the forwarded call is hitting CUCM.

If it should be forwarded by CUCM, check whether Call forward CSS is correct and has access to the pattern for routing calls to 004XXXXXXXX.

Thanks Rajan,

The route pattern is fine for 004XXXXXXXX . The call forward is working on when a internal extension dial to the user . If we dial to the user from external , the same call forward is not working.

Therefore I don't think is the route pattern issue as both call are going though the same route pattern. The only difference for not working is the calling number is external with "+" sign in front , I am suspecting that it being blocked due to the calling number are external number which with "+" sign . Is there anyway that we could remove the plus sign from CUCM on the Calling number ? . Beside this, I also looking on if there is a possibility to use the normalization script ?

CUCM doesn't reject a call if the calling number has + (Unless on a TP you configure and block it). on the Traces the DA response comes back with "Block NoPotentialMatchesExist" which means the called number is not matching the pattern, I'm assuming the calls is coming in from the SIP Trunk from SFB, so check the partition assigned on the RP "004XXXXXXXX" and check if that's present on the Rerouting Calling Search Space and CSS under Inbound Calls for the SIP trunk between SFB and CUCM. If that doesn't help, please attach the complete traces here.

Thank Aeby,
I will do 2 test call and capture the CCM logs.
1.) Call user with internal phone and verify the call forwarding work
2.) Call user from external party and verify the call forwarding work .
