Call forwarding ip phones in CUCM 8.6 not working.

Call forwarding from a ip phone (7942) to external number is given a message the phone is no longer in service message. Call forwarding is performed using access code and prefix example 7.1(area code-external number) xxx xxx xxxx.   Tried from both ccmuser and ccmadmin pages any ideas

Hi,

To start with please check if you can dial the call forward destination ( eg 202333444 ) directly from the 7942 IP phone. If yes, then check the call forward css applied on the phone. If these are in place then get a debug from the gateway through which the call is being sent out to see what is going wrong.

Hi. To add a tip to what Manish correctly suggested (+5) verify the css activation policy on call forward section which by default is "with css configured". That means that you have to specify a css next to destination number on call forward all configuration section or you can change the behaviour by selecting other option usig the drop down menu in the above section.
