Call Manager Upgrade Failing - Not enough free space

Hi,


I was trying to upgrade a CCM version 5.1.3 to 7.1(5b) and it was failing due to some unknow issues. I tried the 3rd time after installing a certain patch for the 5.1(3) version but now i am getting this error :


Insufficiant space on device. Please use the Log Partition Monitor to free addition space

Please note that prior the last try of the upgrade the logging partition was less than 66 % Used. Any advice how to remove the needed space mentioned in the error log?

This is a known issue with CCM v5.  There are some usefull tips here:  https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/1116144#1116144

We recently ran through this and found the easiest work around was to build the system in VMWare, then do an upgrade to 7.1(2)  (you can't go past this with this issue).  Once complete, we ran a back up, and did the install fresh to 7.1(2) on the production box, ran the backup in, and then pushed it up to 7.1(5).
