Call waiting on analog and IP Phones

I have 1 UWL license for 2 devices; 1 IP phone and 1 analog (ATA190) same phone number on each phone.  I would like to have call waiting set up on both phones so if a second call comes in I can answer it on either phone.  Is this possible?  If call 1 comes in and I answer it on the analog will the IP phone ring when call 2 comes in? Will the analog phone ring if the first call is answered by the IP phone?  Also if he phone does ring will it pick up on the call waiting "line"?  I do not think I can do a roll over line on the IP phone and call waiting on the analog phone so not sure if that would be an option.  Also, I do not think I can do a hunt group because I only have the 1 license.

Hi Tom,

You can either assign the same DN on both the analog and IP phone so that they become shared lines. In that case both of them would ring simultaneously and any phone can answer a call. The other option is to set the Call forward busy settings on analog phone to the DN of the IP phone and vice versa. Setting up call waiting will not force a call to be transferred from IP phone to analog or vice versa. Also, remember to set the Max calls and busy trigger on the line settings when configuring shared lines.

Hi Manish,
Thanks for the reply,  If I use call forward busy, wouldn't I need to have two DN's on the Analog phone?  I did not think I can have more than one DN on an analog device.

Hi Tom,

The Call forward busy destination will be configured on the primary DN, it will specify the target DN which can be on any other phone.
