We recently rolled out VoIP infrastructure on the network. Now my boss has me looking into utilizing CAR to set billing rates for users in our system. I am just a R&S CCNP, not a Collaboration anything, I adopted this by being the person in the position.
As I can understand, going through the documentation Cisco Unified CDR Analysis and Reporting Administration Guide, Release 8.5(1) Chapter: Configuring the CAR Rating Engine you can only set one base rate.
My question is, how do you differentiate between local, long distance and international calls with a base rate?
In the above situation, I suspect the base rate would be for local calls, and you would somehow add to this for Long Distance calls. How do you factore in International calls, when there are so many different rates.
Any source references would be great. They are trying to get a class set for me for this, but who knows when that will happen. I would like to play around with it, and perhaps get a baseline set up before said class.
