HWIC, VIC, WIC, etc. are interface cards
NM, NME, etc. are network modules
FXS/DID, FXS-E/DID are interfaces
Interfaces are hosted on interface cards. Interface cards can either be installed directly into an ISR chassis or into a network module that supports the interface card type. Network modules are typically carrier modules that install into the ISR chassis. Network modules can also have DSPs installed in a voice configuration.
I recommend reading the following URLs:
Relevant modules and interfaces: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps5854/products_relevant_interfaces_and_modules.html
Overview of Cisco Interface Cards: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/interfaces/ic/hardware/installation/guide/oview_ic.html

Oh, I missed your AIM question. AIM is a module that gets installed directly on the motherboard of the ISR. You have to open the chassis to actually see the AIM slot and/or installed module.
In regards to SRST/CME licensing. Yes, these are licensed separately from each other and both are add-on licenses to an ISR build. If your question is would you require both of these on the same ISR then the answer is no. Consider them mutually exclusive.
