Carrier Dedicated Voicemail Issue fro PRI on CME

Hello Guys,

I am new to voice, basically a routing switching guy. I have a phone that has Dedicated DID 877 from PRI and a dedicated voice mail number 800xxxxxxx from carrier.

We have main phone which is 872.

Issue is when I call 877 phone from my office phone or cell if the call is not answered it goes to voicemail number 800xxxxxxx but when I hear the voicemail it says the source is MAIN phone number not my cell or office #.

I know it is getting MAIN PHONE number 572 as source for voice mail because of the above port configuration with trans-prof outgoing 1. but not sure how to have source as 577 instead of 572.

Hi,

To start with, if you are sending the voicemail to outside, its not best
practice to send the original calling number. The provider might overwrite
it as this isn't what they are expecting as calling number for outgoing
calls. They might also block the call. Unless its sent as redirect IE.

In your case, since its overwritten by main, then the calling number isn't
sent as redirect IE. You can confirm this as well using debug isdn q931

Create a separate pots dialpeer with destination as your voicemail and
don't manipulate digits on this dialpeer. Then move your translation from
voiceport to other outgoing dialpeers. Its a duplicate work.

If this didn't fix the problem and you still get the main, then your
provider is overwriting the calling number with PRI pilot number
