Yes, use BAT

Unfortunately, due to Bug ID CSCux06538, this won't work on CUCM 11
Currently, to do bulk changes to devices, you have to get down and dirty with the SQL command line.

Interesting, I haven't heard of that bug, but apparently the fix is already in 11.x on 11.0(1.21900.11) (for the one listed as root cause), is that for ALL BAT updates??
I'm upgrading to 11.0(1.21900.11) right now to keep my lab up to date and I usually don't like to do anything on my servers while I upgrade them.
The bug seems to mention only UDP, not all BAT updates, I'll give that a try once I'm done with the upgrade and switch versions.

I'm on CUCM 11.0.1.21900-11 and I can't update devices via BAT. Lines & Users are fine.
When I first stumbled across this, there wasn't even an ES to fix it. I've been told to wait for the next public release of CUCM.

<rant on>Its good the way Cisco, does this isnt it; come up with new release, including new features, and then overlooking something basic as testing BAT. I personally prefer to stay on 10.5 and update within that. Although there are plenty of bugs in that as wel;l </rant off>

Whenever you make a change to a piece of software, there's always the possibility that you'll break something else. The bigger the piece of software, the greater the risk. (Which is where automated testing comes in) But testing software is really hard. I've hit bugs in CUCM that require very precise conditions before they hit you e.g. CSCuo49730. This was one I couldn't reproduce in my lab, but hit me on every call on my live system.
