Changing a display name 7942G phone

Hello, 

I recently took over a new position and the 7942G phone i inherited still has the previous person's info in it. is there a way to manually change the display name on the phone? i do not know the person's pin and i do not have admin login access for the online program. is there a way to do it on the phone itself? or do i need to reset the phone.

I realize this model has been discontinued but any help anyone can offer would be much appreciated.

Hi @Rachael52,

You can not change the display name from phone itself but there are below two ways to make the change:

1. CUCM Administration - If you are a CUCM Administrator then you can change the display name as well as other settings.
2. End User Self Care Portal - End Users can login to the self care portal and if the device is associated then they can change display name. 

If you do no have access to any of these portals then reach our to your administrator to make the change.

Ok, I ended up reaching out to my IT department and they were able to update the display name.
