CIPC 8.6.3 with free-form device name & SRST

Hi expert,

I've CIPC with free-form device name configured and registered to CUCM 8.6. Would like to know which device mac the CIPC use when it fallback to SRST? The VG configured with CME-SRST, and the provision method is auto none.

A very good question, I guess I never bothered to test it, but I dont see how it could register with any other name but what it is configured with in CUCM, so it should be the free-form name. The question is if that is also supported on CME as SRST. I would suggest a quick test.

For CUCM - as chris pointed device name should be same at cucm and cipc level , then only it can register.

CME-SRST - CIPC can register with device name "free-form" only if you didn't mentioned mac-address under ephone and also enabled auto registration under telephony service.

If you see ephone summary you will se device name in mac id.
