Cisco 2801 CCME - max users 24?

Hi all

I have a CCME 2801 box out there somewhere running: (C2801-IPVOICEK9-M), Version 12.4(15)T5

I was under the impression the max number of phones it'll take is 24. Somehow I have 26 connected, alive and well. Am I using some sort of supplimental licence? If so how many more do I have until I cannot connect any more phones?

Also if I wanted to buy another pack of licences to run more phones, say 8, 16, or 24, is there a page detailing what these part numbers are?

Thanks!

Hi Huw,

There is no way to increase the number of supported user/phones with CME other than

moving to more powerful hardware. Like going from a 2801 to 2811 or 2821

The stated max users on a 2801 is 25 but there is some cushion here that will usually let you

register up to 30 phones;

Supported Platforms and Memory Specifications: SCCP IP Phones*

Cisco Platform   Maximum Total IP Phones

Cisco 2801            25

From this great series of docs;

Cisco Unified CME 7.0(1) Supported Firmware, Platforms, Memory, and Voice Products

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/requirements/guide/cme701spc.htm

Cheers!

Hi Huw,

You are most welcome my friend

Don't forget the UC540 8- user system can be upgraded via licensing

to support up to 32 users. The licenses are in increments of 8.

Cheers!

Cheers Rob - odd that they mention a total number of users - and then let you go past that amount..I'm speccing up a UC540 8 user system for someone else - but you can use the 2 supplimental remote office worker licences to run 10 IP phones on it - so yes it is a little 'fluffy'

2811 it is then!

Thanks!
